The Covid19 pandemic has brought with it more than just a being apart from our loved ones. Emotions are heightened, our normal support systems aren’t available to us and many of us have had to continue working in difficult and challenging circumstances. With so much unrest and anxiety in the air we wanted to do what we could to spread a little covid-kindness and hopefully bring a smile and some comfort to others.
As we couldn’t go ourselves, we sent some money to our East Lancs bereavement midwife, Kath, to buy some treats for the maternity services in time for the Easter weekend. She made up these fabulous packages for us and delivered them when she was at the hospital.
Due to social distancing guidelines, visiting at hospitals has had to be suspended which has meant that families are not able to be with their loved ones if they are in hospital with Covid19. Losing your loved ones is hard enough without the added trauma of not being able to be with them and comfort them yourself. To try and make things a little gentler we got in touch with Heart in their Hand and purchased 50 of their keyrings to be donated to the families of those on Covid wards at the East Lancashire Hospital Trust. The heart pops out of the keyring and stays with your loved one and you keep the keyring so you are always connected. We put these in our memory boxes and know how much of a difference they can make.
It is because of your donations that we were able to spread a little love during these hard and distressing times, thank you.
