Mama Academy Wallets
For the past two years, Friends of Serenity have funded 7500 Mama Academy Wellbeing Wallets for families in East Lancashire. MAMA Academy was set up in 2012 to help more babies arrive safely, as the UK has one of the highest stillbirth rates in the developed world. These Mama wallets would normally cost families £2 to buy. that may not seem much to some, but for others, it may put them off. At Friends of Serenity, we want every baby to arrive safely and know how important these wallets are in supporting families and maternity professionals in enabling this to happen.
Mama Academy say:
“Our Wellbeing Wallets are designed to keep antenatal notes safe and are printed with important educational messages for a healthy pregnancy. The advice is regularly read whilst mums wait for appointments in antenatal clinics, making the knowledge second nature. They also help midwives start conversations with mums on vital pregnancy topics such as monitoring babies’ movements. We are working closely with NHS England to provide our wallets to ALL trusts to give to mums at their booking appointment.”
As a charity, we have now ensured that 15,000 families have been given this vital information and we want to help make sure that everyone is given one for free. Please donate anything you can to ensure we can continue to fund this amazing project for years to come.
